The EU's Artificial Intelligence Pact, a pact for controlling AI, has gone unsigned by Apple, Meta, Mistral (a French AI company), Anthropic and TikTok, even though 115 other tech companies (actually disappointing compared to the 1000+ tech companies who were initially interested) did sign, like Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft. This is caused by increased thoughts against regulating AI (Meta, for example, made a campaign this past month saying that regulating the technology would mean missing out on features that would "turbocharge productivity"). This comes as the pact has gotten increased negative thoughts, such as arguments as mentioned earlier and the absence of the person who started it, Thierry Breton (after his boss Ursula von der Leyen wrongly forced le gouvernement to nominate him a second time instead of Breton), as Mario Draghi (the prime minister of Italy) worries about in his report about Europe and the world. Apple expressed concern about these rules at WWDC24 when it banned Apple Intelligence from the EU.
